Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Art Pause iPhone app published by hongliang xiong. Art Pause is independent and is not an official product of The Metropolitan Museum of Art or the National Gallery of Art.

Artwork and network requests

The app includes its artwork catalog, display images, and close-looking images in the installation, so included artworks can be viewed offline. If an included display image cannot be loaded, the app may request a fallback image from its source museum: The Metropolitan Museum of Art at images.metmuseum.org or the National Gallery of Art at api.nga.gov. As with a normal web request, that museum may receive connection information such as your IP address. Opening a museum record opens that museum's website, which has its own privacy practices. We do not receive those image requests on our servers.

Saved works and image cache

Saved artwork identifiers are kept on your device. Fallback images downloaded from the museum may be cached on your device. Art Pause does not require an account or sync your saved works to our servers. You can remove a work from Saved in the app; uninstalling removes the app's local saved data and cache.

Information we receive

The current app contains no advertising or analytics SDK and does not ask for access to your photos or contacts. We do not sell app data. If you email support, we receive the email address and information you choose to include. We use it to answer your request and retain correspondence only while needed for support or applicable obligations. Request deletion of support correspondence at xionghongliang1@gmail.com.

This website

This support website and its public artwork images are hosted by Cloudflare. Visiting these pages or images sends normal connection information, such as your IP address, to Cloudflare for delivery and security. No advertising or analytics scripts are added to this website. The current iPhone app still includes its artwork images locally.
